Q9 is located at 520 Kessels Road, Macgregor. They are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 1pm to 1am and on Fridays and Saturdays until 2am. There are your Christmas Day plans sorted!

What tables are there and what do they cost?
The price is $20 for two hours, $16 per hour or $28 for a full day.
The price is $18.8 an hour, but it accumulates every minute and members receive a 20% discount. If you’re looking for an early night, you can go for the Special day deal which is $33/table from 1pm until 7:30pm. Or if you’re organised, a prepaid table is $14/hour or two hours for $24 (member price).
If you spend over $35 in one transaction, you’ll get a one year free membership.

You’d go for…
The friendly and very welcoming atmosphere, central location and highly maintained championship standard tables. They’re also open 365 days a year.
Q9 is a great place for American pool enthusiasts. They offer the most American pool tables in Queensland and are the best quality, championship standard tables in the state, making it a great venue for experienced players. However, they also cater to beginners, or people who just want to hire a table and play with their friends. Q9 is the home venue for the Queensland American Pool Association.
Areas for improvement…
There is no liquor license, but food and drinks are available. There are also only two 7ft English tables, so if you come here to play English two shot eight ball, you may be out of luck unless you have booked in advance. They really only cater for American rules pool and there aren’t many league competitions.

Where you’ll find them
Q-Masters is conveniently located in the city at Level 1/47 Castlemaine St right next to Suncorp Stadium. They are open each day of the week from 10 am to midnight. You can also arrange hosted and self-run events.

You’d go for…
The licensed bar and cafe (with great pizza), their large range of different types of pool tables and brilliant location with plenty of transport options. They cater for beginners and advanced pool players, with lots of competition leagues available. They are the home of the Queensland Blackball Association and the City 8 Ball and Brisbane Districts 8 Ball. The have an in-house handicap snooker league too. Plus, the jukebox is free!
Areas for improvement…
They can be overly busy at peak times (Not really an improvement needed but could be a negative for some people)

Snooker World is located in the heart of the Gold Coast at 2506 Gold Coast Highway, Mermaid Beach. They’re open Monday to Friday from 3pm to 11pm and on weekends 11am until 10pm.

You’d go for…
The events. You can basically host any event here that you want – whether it’s a work event, Christmas party or birthday celebration.
Snooker World is an icon on the Gold Coast which has been in business over 25 years. It is in a central location on the Gold Coast, its atmosphere is electric and certainly the place where not only pool players hang out but is enjoyed by families, sporting groups and people of all ages. There are a range of arcade games, an online electronic dart board and a fully licensed bar to enjoy. There are even live bands on the weekend!
Mark and Melissa have owned the business for nearly two years along with Australian Champion Rusty Wheeler, Kirsten and Richie. All the owners have different strengths and bring a wealth of knowledge to the business.
Areas for improvement…
The tables are not all well maintained and if you’re a serious pool player it can be noisy at night due to live music and the party atmosphere.
