CueNews has just received some exciting news that’s has just come out of the woodwork about a new potential Junior Nationwide competition. We have only limited information and its all very speculative at the moment. But here is what we know so far:
- The Event is only in its very early planning stages
- The event will likely be called “Young Guns” (Not associated with the “Big Guns” event in any way)
- The event is likely to be organised within the auspices of the AEBF
- Dates are not yet set but could be in June/July 2020, outside of any other main cue sports events
- There will be age group categories during the event similar to the AEBF national titles. U23’s, U18’s Boys, U18’s Girls, u15’s and u12’s.
- Satellite mini tournaments (qualifiers) could be scheduled in all states
- The main event location and format are still unknown but its likely to be a round robin format, progressing into a knockout finals format
- Sponsors will be encouraged to join this exciting new venture in supporting junior sports players.
- This will be the first of its kind of event in Australia’s Cue Sports history. We are yet to see a nationwide junior event outside of the yearly nationals.
